Intelligent Conversations

The other day I was involved in a three person conversation about a rather sensitive cultural topic. Before one of the persons in the conversations could even clarify their stance the other jumped in and said they did not want to continue the discussion because they had made up their mind and their mind wouldn’t be changed.

For once, I was more of an observer in this brief discussion & being an observer gave me a unique perspective. As I pondered this chain of events I realized I had seen many situations like this before involving Christians who’s minds were made up and wouldn’t be changed.

How will we connect if we don’t listen? How will we grow if we don’t allow our minds to be challenged? How will we survive in our faith if we never allow it to be tested &  who says our opinion doesn’t occasionally need some changing?

Thoughts to ponder.
