After a week of finishing up finals, packing up our apartment, and getting ready for graduation the end of the beginning is finally near! Today Kristyn and I will both graduate after four years of diligently hitting the books. As we get ready to finish up one stage of our life and move towards the next I recount the change that has occurred during our time at Greenville. We came here as a couple and will leave married. We have a beautiful baby girl and a basset hound to take back with us to Ohio. Our calling in life was completely altered from what we thought it would be and we have coped with the death of my father.
Many of us are so reluctant to change but as I look over the last four years I realize that all of the change we have experienced has made us better. We have become better partners in our marriage, better friends to those around us. We have learned to listen to the voice of God and follow wherever He might lead us. We have learned that life doesn’t always make sense and that our faith in Christ gives us a hope we can find in nothing else.
As we move back to Ohio, and dive head first into fulfilling the vision God has called us to meet, I hope I reflect on my times at Greenville just as I have above. Change is good, and if we do not learn to expect and move with the change we experience than chances are that Gods calling on our life is not truly being lived to the fullest. It is only through change that we are strengthened and it is only through this strength, both physical and spiritual, that we can become what God truly wants us to become.
